I don't have fireflies in my garden - which is a shame... only cats, bees, a dog and the odd dragonfly!! So please settle down with a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy!

IHSW - Sept 2015

International Hermit & Stitch Weekend (IHSW).... held on the third weekend (Fri - Sun) of every month - hosted by Joyce (Random Ramblings).

Guess what?  I have finished "Feelin' Festive".... see what a weekend of stitching can do!!

"Feelin' Festive" - Designer: Lizzie Kate
Finished Sept 2015
It is such a wonderful feeling to have another WIP ticked off the list.  And, as I always try to do these days.... I am shoe-horning him into this month's theme for Christmas Ornie SAL Blog - Christmas Trees / Presents.  While there isn't a Christmas Tree in this design there are 3 presents!!

After putting the last couple of stitches into this one on Friday evening, I then had to decided what to stitch on for Saturday and Sunday.  So after a bit of thought (and a lot of "I don't feel like tackling this one") I finally settled on the "Faces of Joan Elliott SAL" which I have had on the go for some time now....

The last time that you saw this one (back in May 2015), I was tackling the cat in the middle (as opposed to the "Cat in the Hat".... sorry couldn't resist a bit of Dr Seuss!!)

Now for some reason I still haven't finished kitty... think I might be missing some threads as I have already started the Summer Fairy next time to him... and for some reason I didn't post my start of the Summer Fairy - and I forgot to take a photo before I starting stitching on Saturday....

... so now this is what the Summer Fairy looks like as of Sunday night.  I spent the weekend stitching the right side of this square, and added the start of the leaves on the left.  As you can see I am jumping around a bit with whatever colour takes my fancy at the time!!

The three top squares look like this now:

The Fairy on the left needs her bling and the kitty needs some filling in and he will be finished.  Every time I pick this one up I wonder why I put it down again....  I have decided to keep stitching on this SAL piece for the rest of the week so stay tuned for another update over the weekend!

Well, that's it for my ISHW update....  If you are wondering what everyone else did over the weekend, drop on over to Joyce's blog and have a look at sign up post for a full list of who was participating.

See you again soon!

Enjoy your week, happy stitching
Hugs xx

Friday Frolics & FNSI

Happy Saturday!

Now if today is Saturday, then that means yesterday was Friday.... and Friday now means "Friday Frolics".... and as it was the third Friday of the month it was also "FNSI"!

You would have seen FNSI (hosted by Sugarlane Designs) around before, but "Friday Frolics" is a new Friday stitching plan/idea suggested by Kaye (Kitten Stitching).

Kaye has set up a blog with the aim of stitching on WIPs or UFOs on a Friday night and then posting our progress... and who knows we may all end up with more finishes.  Link to the "Kitten Stitching & Friday Frolics" (FF) blog is here.... and also on my sidebar where you see this gorgeous badge that Kaye created just for the blog :o)

Without further ado... here is my FF & FNSI update for this week:

As I have been doing all week... I continued stitching on Lizzie Kate's "Feelin' Festive" as I really want to finish this one by the end of the weekend.

"Feelin' Festive" looked like this when you saw it on Monday for my "GG" post...

and now it looks like this:

I am now so close to finishing this one that I can taste it!!! :o)

Before I go.... this weekend is IHSW so if you're planning on stitching this weekend why not pop over to Joyce's blog (Random Ramblings) and sign up and then post your stitching update on Monday!

I shall now leave you to enjoy your Saturday - hopefully you have some gorgeous weather where you are, and no doubt if you have a cat they will have found whatever scrap of sun they can just like Oscar did the other day!

He wedges himself in between Hubby's bedside table and the window so that he can lay in the morning sun as it comes through the corner of the window!  He just adores the sun.... right now they are both outside on their "catio" (cat patio) sunning themselves in the Spring sunshine!

Til next time, happy stitching!

Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015 - Update #9

Doesn't the 15th of the month roll around quickly?  I know I say it every month... but seriously I am sure I am losing minutes or hours somewhere as the days really are flying by!!

Anyway... enough lamenting about the absence of hours in my day and onto my GG post.  I have a finish and an almost finish this month!

Tiny Tidings XV - Lizzie Kate
Last month I was stitching on Lizzie Kate's "Joyeux Noel" from the Tiny Tidings XV - this time round I am going to show you the second design that I am stitching from this chart pack - "Feeling Festive".

The last time you saw "Feeling Festive" (way back in March....) he looked like this:

And now after some love and attention over the weekend he now looks like this:

Lizzie Kate's "Tiny Tidings XV - Feeling Festive"
Sept 2015
Amazing how much you can stitch while watching the Last Night of the Proms on a cold, damp Sunday afternoon!

The sweet little Reindeer is also going to be used for my Christmas Ornie SAL post later in the month so you will soon see him finished!

Halloween Limited Edition Charts - Lizzie Kate
Giveaway win from Carolyn (Taking One Stitch at a Time) - link to my post about the giveaway win is here

Halloween Limited Edition Charts - Lizzie Kate
Lizzie Kate - Eek
When I last showed you "Eek! back in June 2015 I was almost finished (missing threads had slowed the pace somewhat!).... which meant that I left "Eek!" looking like this:

Now after a dedicated stitch fest on Friday night and Saturday I can finally say that I have finished "Eek!".....

Lizzie Kate's "Eek!"
September 2015
... and to top it all off this means that I have finished my Halloween Ornie SAL September piece well before the end of the month!  Double happy dance!

Well, that's it from me for this month's GG post.... don't forget to visit Jo's blog for the link ups to everyone's GG post for the month!

Til next time, happy stitching

Crazy January Challenges - Stitching Updates....

Remember all those lovely designs that I started stitching throughout January, well I have tried to make a big effort to keep stitching on them throughout February.  I did show you some of them in my stitching updates over the last couple of weeks - post link are here and here... and now I have some more for you.

Lizzie Kate's Tiny Tidings XV - "Feeling Festive"

When you last saw this little cute reindeer he looked like this:

Now he looks like this:

Lizzie Kate's Tiny Tidings XV - "Joyeux Noel"

Back in January, the second of the designs from this chart pack looked like this:

Now, it looks like this:

Slowly but surely these two are inching along....

The Trilogy - Halloween Sneak Peek

Back in January I left you with a little bit of a black border:

and today there is not much more to see.... just a tiny bit more of the black border!

Happy Howloween - Brooke Nolan (Brooke's Books)

I just love these two cuties (a cat dressed as a dog and vice versa!).... in January I left them looking like this:

Not a lot of progress happened when I picked this up again the other day... but at least the dog/cat is getting a pair legs!!

Don't you just love how different the fabric looks under different light and photo conditions!  The photo above is probably a lot closer to the real colour of the fabric than the one I took in January!

I have also been stitching on some new starts over February, but they will have to wait for another post!

♥ Thank you for all your lovely comments on my posts over the last few weeks... it is so nice to read your encouraging words. ♥

Til next time, Happy Stitching!

Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015 - Update #1

So here we are... my first "Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015" (GG SAL) post!  And yes, I actually have something to show - no finishes, but lots of starts!!

If you're not sure what this particular SAL is all about.... Jo from Serendipitous Stitching hosts this SAL - the link to my post late last year about the SAL is here.... but essentially this SAL is about stitching charts/kits or using fabrics & threads that we have received as gifts, won in giveaways or anything that is intended be a gift or giveaway prize... or anything else that you can loosely use the word "gift" for!!  If you wish to sign up for this SAL, click on the button below or the button on my sidebar and you will be re-directed to Jo's blog.

Onto the update:  As you know I have been doing a couple of Crazy January challenges and as part of those challenges I included some of the charts that I wanted to stitch for this SAL.

The first of these is:

Moutons de Saisons Printemps et été - Collection Tralala
Gift from Kaye from Kitten Stitching.  The original post of when Kaye gave me these charts is here.

There are actually 4 charts to stitch (2 per pack) and I have now started "printemps" and "été". Below are pics of where I got up to on Day 8 and Day 9 of the Crazy January challenges.

"Moutons de Saisons - printemps" - Collection Tralala

"Moutons de saisons - été" - Tralala Collection

The second group of charts that I am stitching as part of this SAL are:

Lizzie Kate - Tiny Tidings
Giveaway win from Kay's Random World - link to Kay's original giveaway post here and link to my post about the giveaway win is here

Tiny Tidings XV - Lizzie Kate
Again there are numerous charts in this chart booklet and I plan to stitch them all at some stage, however for the January challenge I have chosen two (2) to start - "Joyeux Noel" and "Feeling Festive".  Pics below are of where I got to on Day 10 and Day 11.

"Joyeux Noel" -  Lizzie Kate's Tiny Tidings XV

"Feeling Festive" -  Lizzie Kate's Tiny Tidings XV

And finally we come to the last of the charts that I currently have listed for this SAL...

Halloween Limited Edition Charts - Lizzie Kate
Giveaway win from Carolyn (Taking One Stitch at a Time) -  unfortunately the link to Carolyn's original giveaway no longer works, but the link to my post about the giveaway win is here

Halloween Limited Edition Charts - Lizzie Kate
I started on both of these Limited Edition Lizzie Kate Halloween charts during January.  They are both so cute and easy to stitch so fingers crossed I will have at least one of these charts finished very soon!  "Eek" was started on Day 2 of the challenge and the "Autumn Fab Fob" on Day 4.

"Eek!" - Lizzie Kate
"Autumn Fab Fob" - Lizzie Kate
So that's it for my first "Gifted Gorgeousness SAL (GG SAL)" update!  I will be back on 15th February 2015 with another update and hopefully some progress on some of these new WIP's in my stitching basket!  I have also set up a GG SAL page on my blog which I will try and keep updated with links to the update posts if you ever want to refer back at some point in time....

I will be back later today to show you what I started for Day 15 of the Crazy January challenge.....

Til next time, Happy Stitching!
