I don't have fireflies in my garden - which is a shame... only cats, bees, a dog and the odd dragonfly!! So please settle down with a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy!

Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop 2017

Graphic from Princess Sassy Pants & Co website

Today is 31st October... and it's Halloween.....
As you know (or may not know), Jo (Serendipitous Stitching) is hosting her annual Hallowe'en Blog Hop!

This blog hop is no different to any of the others that Jo does - all you need to do is visit each of the participating blogs in order (full list is on Jo's blog), jot down the letter displayed, then return to Jo's blog post at the end of the blog hop and leave a comment telling Jo the mystery word/phrase.

Now for my part of the blog hop.....  I need to show you something that I have stitched for Halloween (either new or old) and leave you with my letter of the mystery phrase.  So here goes!

This year my only Halloween stitching has been on Halloween Happiness, so you probably don't want to see that one again! Here's something I prepared earlier!!

"Eek" Lizzie Kate - stitched in 2015
"Trick or Treat" Pickle Barrel Designs - stitched in 2016
and now for my letter....

Ok.... its all up to you now - write down the letter "N" and hop on over to the next stop.... and say hi to Tiff. 👀😃

That's it from me..... til next time...
Happy Spooky Stitching

web image
Today is 31st October... and it's Halloween.....
As you know (or may not know), Jo (Serendipitous Stitching) is hosting her annual Hallowe'en Blog Hop!

Trick or Treat anyone?
This is where the treats come in - a sweet hop around the blog-sphere collecting letters to make up the mystery phrase.  Can't guarantee that there won't be any tricks awaiting you, but we can guarantee the treats!

This blog hop is no different to any of the others that Jo does - all you need to do is visit each of the participating blogs in order (full list is on Jo's blog - link below), jot down the letter displayed, then return to Jo's blog post (link is here) and leave a comment telling Jo the Mystery Phrase.  Simples!

Now for my part of the blog hop.....  I need to show you something that I have stitched for Halloween (either new or old) and leave you with my letter of the mystery phrase.  So here goes!

I couldn't decide what to show you... so I decided to go with a bit of a theme - Blacks cats and pumpkins....

and now for my letter of the mystery phrase....

Ok.... its all up to you now - write down the letter "C" and hop on over to the next stop.... and say hello to Lisa at Wyrd Needles.

That's it from me..... til next time...

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween

Boo!!

Yep, today is Halloween.... and while we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia as much as other countries it has certainly started to gain some popularity recently.... and I am more than happy to jump on the bandwagon!!

Today's post is two-fold - firstly I will show you my Friday Frolics stitching from last night and then it's onto my Halloween bit....

As you would have read on previous posts, Friday Night is all about frolicing around with our WIP's and then posting what we have stitched on the "Friday Frolics" blog which is hosted by Kaye (Kitten Stitching).

Last night I stitched on my Margaret Sherry Christmas Mouse.... Mouse number 3!  Yes, you're right that means number 2 is finished :o) (will show you a pic shortly of the finished mouse #2)

So when I started stitching on Mouse #3 last night he looked like this:

Before Friday night's stitching
and after some stitching last night he now looks like this:
After Friday night's stitching
I am now on the backstitching of this design so fingers crossed I will get it finished sometime today (or early tomorrow morning while watching the Wallabies game!!)

As I mentioned earlier I finished Christmas Mouse #2 this week,

MS Christmas Mouse #2 - Designer Margaret Sherry
Isn't it amazing what you can achieve when you focus on one thing at a time!

My Meerkats all dressed up in their Halloween Finery!!

Now who's ready for a Halloween Blog Hop?  Yep, you got it right - it's time for Serendipitous Jo's Annual Halloween Blog Hop......

Each year Jo asks all the participants to show a picture of something Halloween related that they have stitched and she also sends us a Letter for a the mystery phrase - so now you need to write down my letter.... and then click on the link below to go to the next blog on the hop.  If you get lost head back to Jo's blog and she will have all the blogs playing along listed in order so you can make sure that you are on the right track!

Now for the reveal... my letter is:
(web image)
Rather appropriate for someone who's name starts with an "L", don't you think?

I love Halloween stitching because it generally incorporates my two favourite colours - orange and purple together!!  Over the last couple of years I have stitched one or two pieces for the Halloween SAL Blog and while I have a couple of favourites I have to show you my absolute favourite Halloween stitch so far....

Margaret Sherry Halloween Kitty
I stitched this kitty a couple of years ago for an exchange... it is a Margaret Sherry design (no surprise there!) and I added the bat border before making it into a pillow backed by the halloween fabric that you can almost see in the background of the photo.  Original post about the exchange is linked here

So, now that you have finished with my part of the Halloween Blog Hop it's time for you to fly over to the next blog on the hop.... say hi to Lenore at Needle, Pen and Sword for me....

Well that's it from me for today....

Hope you have a great Halloween, stay safe and happy stitching
Hugs xx

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  I hope that everyone has a wonderful day of trick and treating!  Hubby and I don't celebrate Halloween as such, but we always make sure that we have lots of yummy lollies for those litle ones that come knocking on the door, and today is no exception.  This year I have even bought a couple of little "cauldrons" from Spotlight to put the lollies in!

Remember I told you a couple of weeks ago that I had won two giveaways - well, the lovely pressies have now arrived in the mail, and as they were both Halloween inspired I thought that I would wait until today to reveal what the postie delivered.

Kay's (Kay's Random World) giveaway was a Lizzie Kate design, threads and some Christmas stitching fabric.  Kay also added some yummy red licorice, some Halloween stickers and these cute little jumping Halloween critters.
Giveaway from Kay
Carolyn's (Taking One Stitch at a Time) Halloween giveaway was a package of Lizzie Kate limited edition kits, Halloween fabric, coloured felt and aida, thread and two halloween tucks.

Giveaway from Carolyn
Such gorgeous things in each package.  I can't wait to start stitching the Lizzie Kate designs that both Ladies have sent me - I have never stitched a Lizzie Kate design before so it is very exciting to be doing something different to my normal stitching.

I feel very lucky to have won both of these giveaways and thank Kay and Carolyn so very much for choosing me as the winner.

Til next time Happy Halloween and happy stitching
