I don't have fireflies in my garden - which is a shame... only cats, bees, a dog and the odd dragonfly!! So please settle down with a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy!

Gifted Gorgeousness - January 2019

Image from Princess Sassy Pants & Co
Happy GG New Year! It's time to start off a brand new GG year and this year I am planning to post way more regularly than I did in 2018! Although as you will notice I am late posting this month - so I am already behind the eight-ball! I did have great intentions to post on time but alas... my plans did not come to fruition!

First up... we have a gift of fabric from stitching friend
Earlier this month I was stitching a small Christmas Ornie design on a left over scrap of fabric that was gifted to me way back when.... in fact I can even show you the original post if you want to click in the link here.  This fabric also became a part of the very first GG post I ever made... link to that post is here.

I stitched on "Happy Howloween" and "Fur-ever Friends" for a couple of stitching challenges (Cross Stitch Finish Line Stitchathon and Magical School of Stitching & Literature stitching challenge).  As the challenges were in 2 different Facebook groups I was able to use the stitch totals for both challenges!  Love it when that happens 😸

That's it for my January GG update.  See you again soon.  If you want to know more about the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL pop over to Jo's blog and check out her sign up page (link is here)

Til next time, Happy Stitching! 😻

WIPocalypse 2019 - Kick Off Post

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings
The object of the WIPocalypse is to stitch on projects that you want to complete before the end of the world, or the end of the year - whichever might come first! WIPocalypse is run by Melissa over at Measi's Musings and is now in it's 8th year.

For 2019 I am going to try and work on 19 projects (ie 19 in 2019!).  The full list of my projects can be found on my WIPocalypse 2019 page.

Okay.... yes I know I failed dismally last year with posting about my chosen 18 in 18, and I can't make promises about this year but I will try harder to post regularly on my chosen 19 in 19!

So what have I chosen this year?  There are a couple of favourites still in the list because they didn't get finished last year, but there are also some newbies in the list.  I have tried to be a bit more strategic in my thinking this year and have picked projects that have been around a long time but are also very close to being finished.  I have also picked a couple of bigger projects in the hope that I will get some progress on them during the year and they then might also become close to being finished!

So here we go - welcome to my "19 in 19" 😃

12 Days of Christmas - Little House Needleworks

12 Days of Christmas - Maria Diaz

Quaker a Halloween - Jardin Prive

Pink Sparrow Sampler - With Thy Needle & Thread

Orchid (Flower Pixie Fairy) - Nora Corbett

Peace on Earth - Cottage Garden Samplings

Deer & Grapes Mystery Sampler - Jean Farish

Snow Love (Snow Story) - Lizzie Kate

Pumpkins 4 Sale - Little House Needleworks

Henry VIII - Cloudsfactory

Dog Park - Satsuma Street

Autumn Bird - Satsuma Street

Shimmering Mermaid - Mirabilia

Spring Bouquet - Margaret Sherry

Tulip Time - Just Nan

Mini Mandala II "C" - Chatelaine

Eightsome Reel - Papillon Creations

Peacock Lady - Joan Elliott

Coffee Saves Lives - Heartstring Samplery

My goal for 2019 is to try and get at least 50% of these finished (ie 8 or 9 out of 19 WIP's finished).  A stretch goal would be to get either the Mira or the Nora Corbett design also finished in 2019!

Wish me luck.... I will need buckets of it!! 😊

Til next time, happy stitching

WIPocalypse 2018 - End of Year Review

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings
The object of the WIPocalypse is to stitch on projects that you want to complete before the end of the world, or the end of the year - whichever might come first! WIPocalypse is run by Melissa over at Measi's Musings and is now in it's 7th year.

For 2018 I am going to try and work on 18 projects (ie 18 in 2018!).  The full list of my projects can be found on my WIPocalypse 2018 page.

Snail's pace is definitely about right for me..... 2018 turned out to be an interesting year - lots of stitching completed but not a lot of blogging.... 2019 will be different as I plan to try and do more blogging and just as much (if not more) stitching!

This is a really quick post to round out the 2018 WIPocalypse.  I chose 18 WIPs to work on last year and unfortunately I didn't get a lot of progress on most of them.....

But I did manage to finish 3 of them:

Boo Club - Lizzie Kate (finished 11 December 2018)
Jingles - Lizzie Kate (finished 30th August 2018)

Moutons de Saisons "été" - Collection Tra La La (finished 2 April 2018)

I have planned to continue with some of the WIPs from 2018 and they have been added into my plans for 2019 with a goal to finish most of them before the end of the year!! 😏

So that's it for WIPocalypse 2018... not as good a result as I would have liked, but that was mostly because of my poor choices in projects and under-estimating my penchant for bright, shiny new things!!!  🙈😼

2019 is a new year and I am ready to accept the challenge!

Til next time, happy stitching
